We would like your opinion on height rotations so please vote below.
Previous years we have varied the height rotation each day. This means competitors start times in each class change throughout the event and the inevitable drying and loosening of a dirt surface over 400 dogs is shared between heights.
However, it is clear the heights that tend to suffer more when the surface drys out and cuts up, are the smaller heights . The bigger heights tend to cut the ground up more due to their increased speed and weight.
Therefore by running tall to small the surface will last longer throughout the event and those smaller heights should face less challenges with this issue.
We would add that we believe last year the ring preparation was our best US Open to date, working with the groundsmen at Jacksonville. We used rakes and hoses between the groups and for this year we are hoping to add a small machine that can work in and around the courses in the group rotation breaks.
